On the Road Together

Look Out Texans wants to make our communities safer for everyone.  Understanding how North Texans bicycling, walking, and driving should interact together is important to improving safety on area roads.  Each of us needs to watch out for our co-workers, neighbors, friends, and family with whom we’re sharing the road.

Stay safe while driving, walking, and bicycling

  • While driving – Always allow at least three feet when passing someone on a bicycle and yield to people walking.
  • While walking – Only cross streets at crosswalks, never between parked cars or traffic waiting at a traffic signal.
  • While bicycling – Ride in the same direction as traffic and use hand signals when turning, changing lanes or stopping.
