FREE 15th Annual Water-Wise Landscape Tour
Time: 9 am to 3 pm
Locations:
Central: White Rock Pump Station, 2900 White Rock Road, Dallas 75214
North: Addison Athletic Club, 3900 Beltway Drive, Addison 75001
South: Kiest Park Recreation Center, 3012 S. Hampton Road, Dallas 75241
More: What is “water-wise?” Water-Wise landscaping describes a practice of using native and adaptive plants that thrive in the Texas climate. These plants actually need no more water than the amount that falls from the sky! So, because you don’t have to water them, they are “water-wise.”
The free self-guided tour will honor the winners of the 2009 Water-Wise Landscape awards and showcase landscaping masterpieces throughout the Dallas area. Dallas County Master Gardeners will also host free Water-Wise landscaping MicroTalks at the top of each hour at the three tour headquarters:
The first 150 guests to visit any of the Water-Wise Tour headquarters will receive a free moisture meter. All visitors will receive a map of the local landscape and demonstration gardens on the tour. You can also view a map and take a virtual tour of landscapes.
Contact: Water Conservation Division hotline (214) 670-3155 for more information.
The 15th Annual Water-Wise Landscape Tour is sponsored by City of Dallas Water Utilities, City of Dallas Stormwater Management, Texas AgriLife Extension and the Dallas County Master Gardeners.
