700 S Good Latimer Expy
Dallas, TX 75226
This year, the City of Dallas Office of Environmental Quality is happy to announce that we have partnered with Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.) to bring you the 8th annual 2016 Dallas Green Fest™, sponsored by Living Earth. Join us downtown, at the future home of the F.A.R.M. Urban Park at 700 S. Good Latimer on the east-end of downtown Dallas.
F.A.R.M. and their partner organization, Eat the Yard, will be converting it into a community gathering space with a greenhouse, raised planting beds, outdoor classrooms, and much more to help our returning veterans learn new skills and enjoy the slower pace of a non-regimented life after their service to our country and our liberty. Living Earth has graciously donated mulch for the site. OEQ is proud to be working with F.A.R.M. to put on the 2016 Dallas Green Fest™ at this location, and Eat The Yard staff and volunteers will be holding a ground-breaking ceremony to share the F.A.R.M. vision with attendees of the event.
Dallas Green Fest™ is a fun, free event that brings together partners from across Dallas to teach our community members about everything from gardening to renewable energy. Come enjoy family-friendly activities, and learn how you can make your life a little greener.

Dallas Green Fest™: See. Learn. Do.
Farmers Assisting Returning Military provides agricultural therapy, recreational therapy and professional medical treatment for at-risk Veterans. Veterans already have performed the most important job in America by fighting for us, keeping us free, and keeping us safe. Now, we believe they are ready for the second most important job…Farming.
The goal is to assist veterans re-integrating into society to discover a new sense of purpose. Veterans are invited to our farm to connect to other vets and to the land. Surrounded by Veterans and farmers, crops and dirt, this environment will heal their invisible wounds with restoration and empathy. If a participant decides to become a farmer, we offer an internship program and aid with employment on one of our farms or with a partnering farm, and continue to offer mentorship.
